Dedicated Swift and Bailey websites.

We have launched  www.baileywalesworkshop.co.uk a dedicated site for Bailey owners, as well as www.swiftservicecentrewales.co.uk for Swift owners. These sites will have information on recalls, warranty issues and servicing offers from both manufacturers.

The sudden drop in temperature can mean only one thing to caravan and motorhome owners!
Have you drained you water system? Cracked pipes, taps and water heaters are the norm in Febuary/March.
Such was the demand on taps in the UK during the early part of this year our suppliers could not keep up with demand.

Don't forget that the rate of VAT increases in January, if you need anything buy before then and save 2.5%.

ALDE 3010 Boiler

ALDE Service Centre ASCARE
ALDE 3010
Our engineers have just returned from an ALDE training course in Rochdale. Concentrating mostly on the 3010 boiler an evolution of the older 3000 series. Having worked closely with Alde for nearly 30 years it's great to see their products return to the main stream UK market. With all manufacturers fitting ALDE in some models next year the benefits of a true central heating system are being realised!
New Whale Water Heater
The 3010  has potentially 8 kw of heating when using LPG and 230v combined !

Its seems caravan and motorhome owners will have a choice of heating systems available in the coming years.

2011 will see offerings from TRUMA, WHALE and ALDE.

Will THETFORD join them in offering a room/water heater solution?

Latest Products from the NEC.

New Air Con
New Aspire
It seems last weeks NEC show was as busy as expected, with most manufacturers happy with sales achieved over the week. Club day on the Tuesday was very busy along with a busy weekend, once again the Bailey stand was extremely busy. As was the Elddis stand, showing its new Aspire range of motorhomes. A couple of new products caught our eye at the show, a new Dometic Air Con system with integral rooflight. Similar features to their B2200 but with an added rooflight. Camos have their new PAPSA satellite dish, an automatic mobile system. A real alternative to the semi automatic Maxview systems?

Finishing touches are being put to our new Service PLUS schedule this week, this will be a premier service schedule. With over 12 months research we are confident nobody else will offer such a comprehensive service schedule! Details will be released on 1st November.
Interesting find on the web last week, a new company in the area promoting its work. On closer inspection using photos of work taken in our workshop! "A mere copier of nature can never produce anything great. -Joshua Reynolds"

New Bailey Pegasus-Service Time!!!

The first of Baileys Pegasus models have started to come in for their first years service. They have stood up well to their first year in use, with very few problems reported to us. Three of the vans are used every weekend by members of West Wales Centre and they have so far stood up extremely well to their almost none stop use. The Alu-tech design seems to be holding up very well.

Dyfed Centre have a rally at Bath Marina on the 11th November, this is great site on the edge of the canal/river. Its a 45 min walk into Bath, or for the less energetic a park and ride across the road! Well worth going to http://www.thedyfedcentre.co.uk to see the details.

October 12th sees the start of the International Caravan & Motorhome 2010 at the NEC. This I think is going to be a very busy show, with plenty of new models on display, and a few unusual models on show. This will also be the last big show before the VAT increase.

Un packing from the Carmarthen Show last weekend, it's amazing how the same amount we took wont fit back in!! It was nice to meet new and old friends at the show once again. We took a chance at being outside this year, luckily the weather held with only a few drops of rain. Turn out was down a little on last years show, although nearly 140 units stayed for the weekend. We already have some ideas for the 2011 spring show at Carmarthen.
Our new Bailey discount service plan is proving to be very popular, and we plan to roll out a similar scheme for all manufacturers very soon. Then off to the NEC show in a few weeks!

Thursday 9 September 2010

Wednesday saw our annual Approved Workshop inspection, glad to say we seem to have passed with flying colours once again. It was nice to meet a new face to the NCC approval team, John Harvey who I am sure we will see for many years to come. Next time dont forget the smoked Venison and Sewin!!

Hopefully we will be off on Friday down to Shepton Mallet for a look around and a few meetings. Then chaos next week getting everything ready for the Carmarthen Show!!

Monday 6 September 2010

As our first Blog I would like to thank SWW Motor Caravan Group for their warm welcome over the weekend. Twenty eight units stayed at The National Botanic Gardens in LLanarthne, our thanks to Jan/Paul and Monica/Clive for a well run weekend. The weather stayed fine and dry for most of the weekend, and we enjoyed visiting the gardens on Saturday and Sunday. The next meet is at Sofia Gardens, see their website for details http://swwmcgroup.org.uk/

Next weekend sees the Shepton Mallet show, and then our own local show at the showground in Carmarthen. Hopefully we will be in Shepton on the Saturday/Sunday, hope the weather improves!!
